It's really sad what happened to Joann's, i remember when my children were small our local Joann's was filled floor to ceiling with fabric and so many smiling people, it was such a lovely place to hang out....I went in to get supplies to make a blanket for my first child, my MIL let me borrow her 1979 Kenmore sewing machine, I made the blanket for the baby....and kept getting more fabric and making more things and finally after a year my husband said "why don't we go today and buy you a sewing machine?" and the rest is history.....I will definitely miss Joann's. I refuse to set foot in Hobby Lobby, when they smuggled antiquities it was over for me and Hobby Lobby.
I will say, that I'm part of the problem, I shop mostly online, many of the shops around me are only open during the day and have very limited weekend hours and I'm not a retiree, I shop from several small businesses...online.
