This is the second machine I've purchased that was missing the slide plate. Gertie, my 99K was also missing hers. It wasn't a big deal since it was available online. I have seen the front slide plate on ebay, just haven't had the time to order it. Flo works well after a nice oiling and the stiches are awesome. I plan on using her for any mending I need to do. I think it would be hard to use it for piecing, but I could try. I need to get the bobbin winder working first before I do anything.
