My Brother 1500 locked up for the third time and I didn't want to spend the money to get it fixed for the third time (Repairman said it was a hook problem). I put it away and forgot about it. About five years later, I cleaned out my storage and decided to test the machine before stripping it of any useable parts. I oiled it and turned it on. It sewed. I put a brick on the foot pedal and let it run for about half an hour at full speed. It never stopped. I threaded it, filled the bobbin, and my grandson sews fabric scraps together when he wants to sew with me. As my grandmother would say Well I never!
