Default Log Cabin

While you don't really need a pattern to make a log cabin quilt I did use one for this. It was a free pattern from American Patchwork and Quilting called "Contrasting Cabins". It's big; 72" by 96". For that reason I did have it quilted by a longarm. Way to big for me to try on my DSM. The quilt motif is feathers which I think look really good. Did have to buy a little bit of the lighter fabrics (did not have quite enough variety), but the darks and most of the lights all came out of my stash. Again, trying to focus on using fabric that I have. I gifted this to a friend who did me a big favor as a thank you. It will go in her vacation house on the coast. Perfect colors for the ocean. Thanks for looking.
