Enjoy your retreat, and sorry for the loss of your furry friend/last week. I've lived with cats all my life, my last one passed the last year in the old house. The little dogs do their best but I miss the cat energy. Have to admit, as much as I miss the cats I don't miss the cat box.

I have been working on organizing my fabric and cleaning up the sewing area. I found a top that I thought I finished I still needed to put on the borders. Have the last one of those to put on today. For those that might remember, it is my bright/garish top of Hawaiian fabrics, many of which are poly blends and slippery and the threads fray all over the place. I decided to add a small zig zag of stabilizing stitches to the border seam and pulled up my vintage machine (oof, it was always that heavy but I am not so used to moving it around) to do the zig zag instead of going back and changing feet and such with the other machine. So good news is that I could see to thread it much better! Still have no real depth perception which doesn't help but at least I can see (more or less) the eye of the needle.

The latest round of purging fabrics is almost over, I still have more to purge but the momentum is slipping. What I've organized is much easier to work with/find stuff but it is time to take the exploded closet and put the fabric back in... so that's my big plan for the weekend. Putting what totes I can back in the closet and stack up the unsorted.

And then, almost a year ago just as my eyesight was tanking, I bought a new-to-me long arm. Still need to set it up, is not all that difficult really but the hubby is not mechanically gifted and I couldn't see. The table is super heavy, all welded together and has the hydraulic lifts, so mostly it's a matter of unwrapping the protective batting and tape used for packing, screwing in supports and such. I have the box of parts (screws and such mostly) upstairs where I have to look at it and think I'm sufficiently ready to take it on.
