Well I'm happy to say I've got all my blocks stitched and pressed and are ready to trim down to 4.5" for the Exploding Heart pattern. Made a big booboo on the group D blocks but found a way around it so I didn't have to rip out all the stitching. I've stopped working on this project as it's Saturday and I need to get back to the quilt machine. I've already got the backing and batting attached and will get the top attached this morning. This is the dinosaur quilt for a little 4 yo boy who loves dinosaurs. I was having issues on my decision on how to quilt the body of the quilt but after chatting with a couple friends, I now know to use my bubble E2E pattern. I added extra sides to widen this quilt using the leftover scraps so there I have 2 patterns to chose from but I do know I'll change thread color to match the color family just to add a little jazz to the quilt. The dinosaurs are nice and bright and the background is a dark dusty black so I'm using black thread. The backing is a black/grey/cream sort of like oil and water pattern. So wish me luck that it will come out nicely. I had to stop quilting due to our blizzard here in Iowa on Wednesday. Then on Thursday I noticed my power line had been pulled off the house so I had to wait for an electrician and the power company to put it back so I didn't bother turning on any of my machines just in case. In fact, I pulled the plugs from the wall to be extra careful about it. Now I'm back to normal, the sun is melting the snow as we speak and I can safely get back to quilting.
