I am making a quilt for my grandson who is turning two in Sept.

I am using the "Pinwheel Pals" pattern from American Patchwork & Quilting and I plan to use this Go-Go Trucks fabric for the squares. I will use a minky fabric backing, no batting (it gets WARM here in the South!).

He is a HUGE fan of the "little blue truck" book series.

What color/print fabrics would you use for the pinwheels? I'm thinking spring green dots and something darker. Then again, it's supposed to suggest "little blue truck" so maybe a bright blue polka dotted fabric and something darker?

Bonus points if you can recommend a fabric for binding and a minky fabric for the backing, LOL.
