I never prewash unless the fabric is red or feels overly heavy with dye. Have learned to use only one 6"x24" ruler, and hide the other one so I don't accidently grab it. I've stopped buying a jillion different cutting templates, as so many of them do the same thing. Making a smaller version of a quilt pattern by making less blocks often works for Project Linus Quilts. Trying my best to use what I have without buying more (not always succeeding) unless it's backing. Quilt backings have got to be as pretty as the quilt top. Cutting my leftover scraps up after finishing a quilt top. When I have to cut numberous super large pieces like for The Pillowcase Challenge and Kennel Quilts I went to the hardware store and had plexiglass cut to the sizes needed making it so much easier to use than moving my 6x24 ruler four times.
I buy rotary blades whenever someone has a good sale on them....really dislike a dull blade.
Are these my rules or my quirks??
