You could ask you LQS owner if you could have the cardboard that the bolts come on. Cut them in half and you have a small board to us. I don't use this method but I bought an end bolt from my LQS that was on sale. It was wrapped on a half cardboard bolt. Its a bit thicker, but also much less expensive.
