Well, another delay in replying - amazing how "life" can get in the way sometimes, isn't it? There have been some fun stories of acquisition and use I've now caught up on, and both have a place here in the Moratorium thread. :-)
MaryKa - I also acquired some upholstery fabric a number of years ago and while some of it went back out quite quickly, I kept a couple of the sample books and am planning to use them to make a dog rug for the back seat of the car (for when the current one wears out). I know upholstery fabric isn't generally "washable" but when it's being used in such a utilitarian way, I'm not terribly fussed if it pills or wrinkles.
WMUTeach - that's a big colour purge! I am too much of a controller to be able to do your "blind pull" method but I do like working with a specific colour theme (might be one colour, might be more) to keep an overall "random" project a bit more coherent.
I believe I promised to share a mini-purge in one of my last posts so here it is. It's for our guild's BOM community quilt challenge - I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but a guildie sets the parameters for a block and then takes all of the donated blocks and turns them into finished projects for our community quilts program. She's amazing! The black is solid - I just took the picture on a wire shelf!
