Got it. Finally my studying of responses to my question did cause me to go back to my sewing machine, repeat the process and measure, measure, measure. I will let the feed dogs do the work. What you have shared has been very helpful. I know what I now did wrong, made too scant a 1/4 inch seam. Multiplied out made 1/4 inch off, too big. I will try my best to not make that mistake ever again. Many thanks and thanks for your follow-up support and advice.
