Default Quilting Tools

I am needing to replace some of my quilting tools as they are becoming too damaged/used to be accurate. Today I had a real stunner. I have a rotating mat that is 17" square that I use all of the time. It is so worn that it no longer has a good surface for cutting. I bought it around 4 years ago and thought it was expensive then at around thirty-eight dollars, I think.

I looked at the exact same rotating mat (I liked the brand) and now it is ninety-four and change at one place and seventy-four and change at another place. Needless to say, I will not be replacing it, least with that same brand. I found another brand that had some good ratings (I hope) for around 50.00, still a bit of surprised at that price. Hopefully that will last as long as the one I am replacing. But, really, that 17" square rotating mat for 100.00 plus, by the time taxes and shipping is added. I'm flabbergasted. It must have some embedded gold in there somewhere!

Don't even get me started on fabric costs!
I may need to find a cheaper hobby sooner, than later!
