eparys- This is EXACTLY what I wanted, thank you. So this will give me an 8.5 inch block before sewing to other blocks?

Workbench, thank you for all you did. I was mistaken when I thought the two blocks were the same. I Just needed the square (pinwheel) in a square, but I needed to know what size to cut each piece.

I was given a panel with 1 large panel and 6 smaller squares to make for a foster child's quilt. I have no idea yet how to incorporate 6 smaller sq panels, with the larger one, but I will have to add the pinwheel blocks because I need the whole quilt 52 x 72. The smaller panel squares will be 8.5 inch too. The large panel I will make to fit inside the middle, by adding borders, if I need to. Larger panel measures 23 x 26 now. Any ideas for layouts are appreciated.
