Welcome back and join the multitudes of quilters who do not use a long arm machine. I use my Pfaff Performance 5.2 for quilts that are twin sized or smaller, donation quilts, and other quilted projects. I only send double/queen size quilts out to a long armer because I struggle with the weight of these larger quilts.
I don't have an embroidery machine but I do hear that others do use them for quilting. You might want to post questions to the QB about tips for using your embroidery machine for quilting effectively. Folks will have tips for you I am sure.
