I've ordered a machine twice online and both times I guess I got lucky. I basically just needed a light weight machine I could put at one end of my cutting table to attach binding to my quilts. The 1st Brother lasted a number of years but then I quit quilting for over 2 years so when I went back to add a binding, the machine would only go backwards. As I didn't pay but a couple hundred for it from Costco, I decided it wasn't worth having it fixed. I went online again and started pricing another Brother machine but I compared prices and finally ended up getting one online from Walmart of all places. So far so good plus this one is all metal supposedly and all the feet from the old machine work on this one plus it came with a case and the extended table and again I didn't pay much more than a couple hundred for it.
Of course it doesn't have automatic threading or cutting but I can live with that. It's light weight and sews like a dream. I've written down the settings I need to do my bindings so it's doing what I wanted it to do for me. When not in use, I have it covered with a tea towel due to cat hair over along side the cutting table out of the way.
