But when I tried to sew ... it didn't sew ... just a thread mess ... the thread on the machine broke ... what did I do wrong?
I wish I could find a free manual for your machine, but no such luck. I'm wondering if the threading diagram for the 1301 would be close. I found a threading diagram at https://web.archive.org/web/20171225...ng_diagram.htm.

Wish you could post pictures on the thread. I see you could get an avatar image. Perhaps you can start an album in your profile. Some have had better luck posting images there.

I'm wondering if the needle is inserted correctly. I believe that the flat of the shank should be on the right side and is then threaded left to right. It looks like the video for threading the bobbin that you found should work on your machine. The direction the thread is going in the bobbin makes a difference. Also the top thread needs to go through all the correct places. The tension dial should probably be set so the number 4 is at the top. Did you bring the bobbin thread up to the top of the needle plate and then bring both threads behind the presser foot probably about three inches. It is advised to hold onto the threads when you begin to sew. While I usually put the presser foot down before I begin sewing, there are some that don't. They start like is shown in the 301 manual https://www.manualslib.com/manual/45...?page=9#manual where you have the take up lever in the highest position (as that is where there is the most thread between spool and needle). Place fabric under presser foot, turn hand wheel until the needle is in the fabric, then put the presser foot down.

If you are in the Denver metro area, I could probably help better.
