Wait a minute...these are not hardwood. Amtico is top of the line commerical luxury vinyl tiles that look like wood. They are 3" x 36" inches. They can handle water, the dogs, and as much company as we can bring home. They don't fade either. They are pricey but stunning and the only thing that looks as good as wood to me.
I had Amtico Classic Touch tile in my old house and I loved it!! Of course after awhile I realized my choice of the black/pewter was not such a great idea, but the floor was gorgeous! :)
I say put it throughout the house, it gives a sense of continuity. I have laminate through out this house, just two bedrooms left to do and the kitchen and bathrooms are vinyl. :)
