I have one of the "high end" Laurstar steam irons things. I love it for the steam, but I use a LOT of starch when I'm quilting. The Laurstar never seemed to get hot enough to dry the starch so I called the company and asked. Apparently - they don't. Other than that I love the iron, but now have 2 irons on my table.
That's interesting. I also use a lot of starch. I just leave the iron in place for a count of 10. If the starch isn't dry, I repeat and it seems to work fine.
