Jill, I have the Karen Kay Buckley 4" and 6" both for collage, the seratted (spelling!) edges don't leave stringy bits. I don't care for them for cutting ffabric alone, but they are the ones I use at the machine for snipping threads etc.
edited to add: the 6" are easier to use for around bigger shapes and the 4" really pointy ones are perfect for fine little details. Both equally important. Just wipe them down with Isopropyl alcohol after using as they will get a little gummy
