I think you did good Gemm, Nice fabrics that should play well together, good color sense. My stash is all over the place because I am not terribly selective on what I like... my friend Barb in Arizona works mostly in batiks and so her scraps are batik, and you can't necessarily tell the difference between her "planned" and her scrap works.

Snooze, I'm not sure if I congratulated you on your restraint. I get confused between posts here and the other thread -- but another well done to you. Sounds like a fun day, dog and all. If we (hubby and I) go to Missouri, the dogs will be going with us.

I remain at work on the crazy blocks, I did my math and drafting and have my number of blocks needed. After my next sewing sessions I should have the proper number of blocks started, then will have to make them larger up to the 13.5" raw size I need. The filler blocks at the top and bottom borders will be trimmed down, but only like a 3" piece so I will just count them as "whole" for this step. I will also need (6?) half squares, I think that will be easiest to do as part of the adding-to and trimming-down process, just 3 blocks made more like at 15" and sliced down the diagonal.

The second set of blocks I did, the ones with too much Parasol fabric is coming back at me again... they just don't play nice with each other. Plus the sharp points make the blocks really irregular -- but I wanted some sharp points! Last night ended with my creating a stack of fabrics not used in the double-parasols and cutting a new set of 8" blocks. That will be the first task of the day, making that set.

The third set of blocks, the 5-piece 6" ones went together so smoothly and nicely! But then I was using 2 sets of fabrics, and the blocks still needed trimming but were pretty square. I'm thinking maybe three of those will fit along 2 of the 8" ones for about the proper size...

Just imagine flashing fabric and rotary blades with intermittent hmms of the sewing machine. And lots of music in the background. Yesterday it was the Avett Brothers, album after album. Sometimes apparently I am unaware of the lack of banjo in my life and they manage to fill it...
