I think now a days my strong point is that I'm not afraid to try something new. So far I've gone out of my comfort zone with curves,......drunkards path, tiny pieces.....Elizabeth Hartman's dino pattern, cathedral windows, just plain too big and aweward but I finished it. My next goal is this quilt pattern called Cog Wheels with lots of strange shapes from what I can tell. Years ago I tried paper piecing and I didn't try a small piece but Jenny Beyer's Crystal Star pattern and that turned me to love paper piecing.
