I bought a huge lot of So Fine (by Superior) at auction a couple of years ago. I had been using the brand for pre-wound long arm bobbins with good results. Now I use it for everything because I have a life time supply
I used Aurifil on the Bernina, it liked that and it also liked the So Fine too.
I also bought a collection of colors from a brand I was unfamiliar with, for when requirements call for cotton thread. So far it's been ok when I'm using it. So far I have only used it in piecing and not quilting but it has behaved nicely. Is on sale for Black Friday even!
Edit: When I bought it I researched it extensively, although it is imported to/from Germany I believe the cotton is grown and ownership is in China. Just if people care!
