Default Stitching thin batting into a cylinder shape

Hello board! I want to know the best way to sew two pieces of batting together to form a cylinder, 1 foot in diameter. I have Brother Computerized Sewing machine with some pre programmed settings I'm planning to use The battings very thin, about 6.6mm thick. Its being used as padding against a wire mesh tube it will be a sleeve over. Would a zig-zag stitch be the best way to go or is there a better way? Also what is a good size in terms of width settings to go with? How would I setup to do a cylinder?
