Back for a hot tea break! I need to rearrange things into my winter configuration and set out my space heater. It is bearable for short increments but not long sewing sessions.
My personal style of quilting means wanting to doing everything for each step at the same time for consistency. However, my personal body says I need to switch activities more often. So I'm trying to do a few of whatever, then get up and press, then go back and sew, and so forth. But I still really like going fast. So this is my desk set-up for the geese units. I have my stack of precut neutral squares. I know, Black = Neutral still just looks so wrong. Purple = Gray is more easy to accept. Can't see it in the picture, but in one of my aluminum foil roasting pans I have my little squares. I grab whatever large square is on top, and same thing for the little squares. Slice and sew the set of units, move on to the next piece until I have a "few" and then I press. Go back and put on the other sides, and repeat until I need a break. Like now
Not in the picture but I brought out my little Ott light. For the most part I think I did pretty good choosing which side of the white on whites is correct, some are quite bold and others more subtle. But I was having a hard time this morning with some of the grays.
Also not in the picture, off to the right of the cutting area is my machine. I really need to spend the time to correctly adjust the shelf for the newish machine, and then crank up the overall height a bit. I am getting all sorts of strain and bad cuts the way it is.
Musically we just passed Dylan, Bob and are now on Dylan, Jakob. I'm not sure if I moved Wallflowers to be after Jakob or if I left it in the Ws... will soon find out! I realized that Dire Straights should have been between Dion and Divinyls, when I do my rearranging my CDs will be more available than they are now and I will be able to check. Or maybe the disc is in backwards, that would be the easy fix.
