Are you using
track.amazon.com to track the package?
The FAQ on that site states:
Why is my tracking information is missing?
If your package tracking information is not appearing, it may be due to a number of reasons:
- The first package scan may not take place until the package arrives at a regional hub near the final destination. This is common when shipping
volume is high and packages are processed in bulk. Until this first scan, we will not display tracking information
- The first package scan may not take place until the package is delivered at the final destination
I've only had one package where the merchant (nuts.com) used Amazon shipping. It was a post office tracking number and it did track on the track.amazon.com site just fine.
It sounds like Amazon hasn't scanned it past the label being created at MQS, which could fall into the scenarios above (not at your regional hub yet).
Given the post office tracking number, I wonder if they are using USPS for last mile. If so, and you can't get package delivery from the post office, they'll probably have to intercept the parcel or reship using a different carrier.
ETA - we have a neighbor who uses our address for any packages where they can't explicitly choose UPS or FedEx for just that "no house delivery" reason (they only have a PO Box). That might be something to consider for similar orders where you don't know how the package will ship.
