My Dau collects cookbooks, so this year, I thought I'd give her one that's a little different:Ruby Ann's Down Home Trailer Park Cookbook, by Ruby Ann Boxcar. It's a spoof on "trailer park" cooking. There was a snafu when I ordered hers and so I had to go and order a second one to make sure that it arrived by Christmas. Both copies came, so I kept one.
Ruby Ann has all sorts of funny recipes in there, with colorful commentary for each one. Now, I have nothing against trailer park residents; my mom lived in a trailer park for many years and it was very nice. However, Ruby Ann takes a comical look at a most humble lifestyle.
I'll have to post some of her recipes. They're hilarious! Actually, some of them look really good and I'll have to give them a try.
