It looks like a variation of a Churn dash block. Quite simple to draw out, actually. If one assumes that the finished block is 8 inches square, one would start with a 4.5 inch center square, then sew together two sets of strips 1.5x4.5 and add them to the top and bottom of the center square. Take two more sets of strips the same size, and add a 2.5 inch square to each end before sewing to the sides of the block. Then sash with 2.5 inch sashing and cornerstones.
I think it would make a great guy quilt in the right colours.
Hi Ginger! I actually did draw it out on graph paper. Thanks for your input also. I was hoping to find the pattern so I know how much of each fabric. Any tips on that would be welcome.
Funny story since you mentioned a “guy” quilt! I met my boyfriend just about two years ago. Soon after that, he said he loved the quilt and wanted to buy it from me. I didn’t want to sell it, he kept asking, so I made him a deal…I would give it to him only with the understanding that I get it back if we break up. All I have to do while we’re having a disagreement is say “I’m leaving and taking the quilt with me!”, argument over lol. My thinking is to make another one and finally tell him he gets to keep this one.
