Hi everyone! Happy Part 8 Eve! I'm still working on Part 7 with just some trimming to do to the triangle pieces that are cut-offs. I was happy to find that I had an Accuquilt die to use for this step. The piece fits very nicely and only one triangle piece instead of 2 need to be trimmed off. I didn't realize until after I had already sewn then pressed the corner triangles that the overall size of the unit is a bit off on some because of my seam allowance. Ah well-it's not enough for me to be concerned with and I'm just going with it. Pictured is the unit with the Accuquilt cut piece sewn on and then after its flipped up into place. I'll save the clipped off triangles. They work well with smaller paper pieced pineapple blocks. Or maybe they'll work for Bonnie's Wild and Goosey that's on my to-do list, someday. Most of the time I would have sewn another seam allowance to get a new HST...yes, I do that even for these smaller pieces, crazy me!! Tonight is Quilt Guild, then I'll work on the trimming when I get home.
Will there be a reveal tomorrow?? Bonnie said this years mystery will be concluded sometime in January, and there are three Fridays remaining. I've seen some FB posts using prior finished clues to speculate what design the quilt will be. I'd rather not do that myself- just going along and waiting for the big Surprise on Reveal Day.
