Hi everyone- I'm catching up reading posts. I'm having supper in front of my computer...figure if I had to be sitting down anyway I might as well make good use of my time, lol! I've enjoyed the progress pictures and the thought processes others have. It helps me think outside the box bit.
Speaking of thinking outside the box....I'm toying with exchanging the ice blue sashing strips for the star blocks to a light green. I have one green fabric that I'm considering. It's a Michael Miller Fairy Frost print and it looks icy green. When Bonnie first came out with the photo image of the Lupines, I saw a lot of green. More so than the purple or pink. I had tucked away the thought of incorporating green, maybe a border or binding? I'm entertaining that thought now. I have extra star blocks and I may make a sample with that frosty green. It's very light and that's how I'd like to have the sashing - light, almost not there. Some of my blues are med to dark blue. I can choose a selection of only my lightest blues, but then I thought, why not use one constant fabric?? Maybe even a solid, but I don't have a light blue that would work. (someone told me recently that I'm not allowed to buy anymore fabric. Oh yeah, it was just me talking to myself!). Anyway, I guess I was looking for a way to tame the busy-ness of the overall quilt. Now this is really off the rails for me! My style is typically as scrappy as I can get! I'll play around with fabric choices tonight, hoping I don't get lost down too many squirrely paths!
Iceblossom- I definitely like that Kaffe!
