I checked in this morning and the eagles have loaded the nest with fluff. I watched a non-Big Bear Valley video potentially explaining their late start.... owls nesting nearby and the weather has been too warm. Whether or not they are still exhausted from last year's parenting was also mentioned as a factor to delay their egg laying. The male (Shadow) brought a fish into the nest, the female (Jackie) wanted it and there was a huge fight. The viewers were guessing that Jackie's hormones are in gear and she's about to lay her egg(s). Shadow needed to eat before he could start bringing her tons of food. Now that the nest is fluffy, I'm guessing that the eggs are about to arrive.
https://friendsofbigbearvalley.org/ I'll post a note when Jackie is permanently pancaking (laying on eggs) in the nest.
