someone asked for the hospital chili recipe so here it is.
McKennan Hospital name was changed to Avera Health maybe 25 years ago but the name McKennan is fondly remembered.
McKENNAN CHILI
1.5 pounds lean ground beef, browned with 1 or 2 diced white onions
14 oz can diced tomatoes
28 oz can crushed tomatoes
2 cans kidney beans and juice. (I prefer light red over dark red)
14 oz bottle chili sauce
2 T. chili powder
2 T. garlic powder
Simmer at least an hour.
