Thanks...I'm glad that I'm not alone.
I did try to keep the pieces all in little baggies, but that soon got out of hand. Now, I just concentrate on making 2 or 3 blocks at a time and try to use up the pieces that I've already pre-cut, while slowly diminishing my jumbled mess.
