These past two weeks I have had the Olympics playing in the background! The action usually happens in short bursts, so I can pause to watch something cool happen, then get back to sewing for a few minutes while everything resets.
Usually, I listen to the classical music station (non-commercial) as it reliably plays music, not ads, all day. It's generally pretty good for piecing or quilting. I will also put on a playlist of ambient music when quilting when I need something in the background but don't want anything terribly distracting.
Hearts of Space (Slow Music for Fast Times) has a lot of good music for this.
