Same stash story, too much, and I'm old.
My daughter was in my sewing room and said Mom we need to do something with your stuff. I know it's important to you but honestly do you really need all this now? She asked me to think about it. I was talking to my husband about maybe donating most of my fabric stash to be more organized and less packed away. He said your sewing room is overwhelming, and it may be a problem later on. It's up to you, it's your things. It's not like we can't afford more when you need it so stop worrying about it. He's right. I loved my stash over the years but now not so much. I have a rack for all my new fabric purchases, and they are almost getting old! There is always a fabric sale somewhere, a guild member's moving sale, thrift store finds, etc. I've decided to get rid of the bins and shelves full of fabric, unused notions, boxes of patterns, shelves of books, the machines I don't really use but hey they are great machines. Yeah, they are but I feel like I'm hoarding them because they are great. Let someone else keep them and not use them. LOL Who knows I may sew more with less stuff.
