Well, I am only just beginning to not be an invalid from the shingles. I tell you this has been a terrible experience.
I was able to make three quilted project bags for cross stitching last week. I paid for that in the worst way. But, dog gone it I did it! I am making a set of sewing accessories from some woolen crewel samplers I found in a drawer I was clearing out. I cut them up after I ironed on some stabilizer to the back. I can't believe I did that! But, why not? If they are better used as something other than a wall decorative picture, I would never use now. Honestly, I think they are coming out great! A needlebook, scissor fob, pincushion matching combination. Mostly hand sewing, so easier for me to do.
I have so many kitted-up quilts I want to make. I just cannot move my left arm all that much yet to do them. I am considering taking some of my finished quilt tops to the long arm quilter. I would love to see them finished and giftable.
Then there is the quilted jacket fabric, pattern and threads waiting to make before the cold weather hits again. I think I will try to do a little quilting here and then there so as not to aggravate the shingles too much. In three days, it will be nine months living with this itchy stuff. My house and sewing have suffered so much.
Hubby thought I needed a new cooking space. He has scheduled a kitchen remodel starting in a week. I have been boxing up most of the kitchen in preparation for that. Oh, and washing down what needs cleaning. I love him, but, I think I am being tested beyond my strength. Pray for me ladies, please!
He has just gone through months of chemo. I cannot tell him no. He is such a good hubby. I am just so thankful he is getting well.
