Here's a surprise block from the "Town" fabric. It's a surprise because when I was cutting out the squares needed, my son called and said our 17 yr old granddaughter was in a wreck ... she is ok ... but getting checked out at hospital.

Of course he said he'd fill me in tomorrow when he sees me ... don't they realize that imagination is far worse than knowing what actually happened and how she is???? Now I have to wait for her older sister, that is staying with us, to get home late tonight to find anything out .... Geeze!

Anyway, it's a surprise because right after the call, I cut 4 of the blocks at 3.5" when they should have been 4" and had to get on the struggle bus to get the block anywhere close to correct. Definitely surprised when I found out I had cut the squares incorrectly. Do wish now that I had used a more contrasting fabric than the tan/cream ... oh well ... too late for this one.

My phone camera also gives some strange dimensional warp to the fabrics ... really there's nothing wavy in any of the fabrics.
sorry to hear about your granddaughter, wishing her the best. Block looks great, I can’t tell it was not planned.

The rainy days are here. Humidity is so high! The temps are cool, but I've had to run the air conditioner just to dry the air so I can work in my sewing area. Here's what I've completed so far. The colors look off to me but maybe it's just my monitor.

SewBizGirl - this block is called "Road to Oklahoma". It's a simple two-color block that shows your brown against a solid white.
Moonwork - I hope this is what you wanted. It is a "Double Sawtooth Star". Again, I used a flat white with your blue and orange-red.
Hav4Boys - Your polka dots are wonderful. And I really like the cloud-like movement in your blue. I can imagine this fabric and pattern on a twin bed.
Duckling - Modern blocks are a challenge for me. You asked for solids, so ... I used my solid white and Colorado State University green to make a bold, uncluttered statement. I hope you like it.
. Beautiful blocks, great job.

Having a pleasant, easy day. I pulled out two partially completed tops from the batch of fabrics I received from my friend. I’ve cut the batting and once I finish attaching the border on the blue, I hope to quilt and bind them quickly and send them off to PL. Aren’t these two adorable fabrics?!?! Those fish! I’ve got yellow backing to match the fish for the one on the left but must dig through to find something for the right one.
. Great quilts, glad you can finish them for your friend. Someone will be very lucky.

Janice - Here's an eight-point star for you. I don't have many solids in my stash, so I hope this is okay.
. Great star block.

Janice, love that fishy fabric! Those are two cute quilts you finished.

I have re-worked my polka dot fabric block for Hav. Sorry, I thought the white was an option, if we needed it. Janice, could you please swap out this pic with the old one in the gallery? Thanks.
. Lovely polka dot block.

If you have been around awhile, you will probably be able to pick out which two I made, the center blocks in the top and the bottom row. Two of my favorites.
. Beautiful quilt. It will be a cherished gift.
