Here's a tip I got somewhere but can't remember where. Don't mark all those squares, take a piece of painters tape (or similar) lift the foot on your machine and put your needle down.
Lay the tape scant 1/4 inch to the right of the needle and lay it down towards you about 6 or 7 inches.

When you sew your squares, put the point of the square under your foot on top (even with) of the tape and follow the oposite corner of the square with the length of the tape all the way.

Ta Da! you have just sewed one side. Now flip after chaining some and do all over. After your done sewing, just take ur ruler and cut halfway between the sewing lines.

You have just made half square triangles without marking them.

I hope I explained it right.
