You will only have seams "out" on one side of the quilt. You sew the squares wrong sides together, using a 1/2" seam. All the seams should be on the front of the quilt.....hope this helps...

I always sew with wrong sides together so that the seams are on the front and that is what gets frayed, so that all the fraying is on top or the front.
