I vote for hot air balloons or garden theme.
I don't know much about batiks but will do some research.
The 12" block works for me.
It is really hard to decide. All the options would be great, and since I don't have any of the quilts I have made yet, whatever we do will be a keeper because of the friends who contributed. That is what will make it special whatever the specifics. :-)
