I can only answer for Janome's on the cotton wick, they do have it. Never pull it out, just add a drop or two of oil.

Do all machines have a cotton wick in the bobbin case? I'm wondering if I should be checking my Bernina 1230. Is this in the removeable bobbin case that holds the bobbin? Or in the assembly that holds the bobbin case itself in place?
