Thanks, littlehud. I never did have any troubles with this blue one (other than needing much more dk. blue fabric than what I had); it went together easily and I enjoyed doing it. I learned NOT to use flimsy fabric ever again (the light blue is really poor quality) and I learned to be generous with the spray starch (there's a lot of triangles in this quilt) and, since I had no pattern, I learned a couple of other lessons to do with cutting the pieces the right size ... I had to use my iffey & rusty math skills and I didn't always get it right the first time!

The big trouble I've had (re: latest stupid move) involves my very next quilt project (French Braid), but the situation is now looking much better and I expect to get my dream FB quilt made after all.
