I feel your pain for your machine. I can't imagine. However, I suspect a lot of that smoke/soot will clean up if you're really patient. The odor will likely remain though. Also, I don't understand why your homeowner's won't cover it. I have always assumed that my machines would be covered under my policy. Aren't they considered a household item?
Is it necessary to attach a Rider to the insurance like insuring jewelry?
