I have my buildngs insured, and insurance for contents, plus my Bernina is listed as a specific item. Here in Ireland, anything over the value of €2,500 for a single item needs to be listed separately to be covered. Always a good idea to ask if you aren't sure - I don't pay any more for the cover on my machine, I just needed to list it.
