My LQS instructor bought a Reliable (paid around $150 or so for it) and absolutely hates it. It takes a long time to heat up initially then when it shuts itself off, it takes a long time to heat up again. The de-activator switch she said and the buttons are in an odd spot. Now it just sits in her classroom.

She's now testing the new Oliso (the one Fons & Porter uses). So far, she really likes it and, I believe, has a 20-minutes shut off on it.
