I have been sewing garments and home decor for years but only recently decided to try quilting. I had worn out my old cheapie Singer and wanted to get a computerized machine. Not knowing if I would stick with the quilting, I bought a Brother from Walmart. It's a nice starter machine with lots of features and included feet but I wanted something that would last me through the years.

I started looking at Janome and discovered that some of the Kenmore machines were made by them. I got the model 19110 which is identical under the paint to the Janome DC2010 and HT2008. I saved $200 by going with the Kenmore instead - it's on sale for $199.
