Sara--me! me! too--and I love your quilts. I learned to quilt from my grandmother some 50-60 years ago. She and her neighbors and relatives met regularly to quilt, and I played under the quilt frame with my cousins. It's amazing what you can learn from beneath a quilt frame.

Their quilts were all scrap quilts--leftover pieces from garments, and many were leftover feedsack pieces from dresses, aprons, etc. they'd made. When I began quilting, my mother-in-law, aunts, older cousins loaded me down with frabic scraps. I'm still working my way through that huge stash.

I am now going through my mother-in-laws estate. Recently I opened a huge trunk to find it filled with feed and flour sacks. I am delighted, but I will have to share this stash. I'm in my late 60's. No way could I quilt my way through all of this.
