I am a reluctant patchworker - I have been dragged kicking and screaming over to this, the dark side. I have considered myself a cross-stitcher who is not adverse to sitting at the machine from time to time, making use of the patchwork fabrics around to accent my stitched wallhangings and to make christmas ornaments.
Dad's 80th birthday party is 8 days away. Typically, i've left things to the last minute. I saw a music quilt panel at the local shop a month or so ago, and thought that would make a nifty (and quick) wallhanging. I posted the pics of my patched piano keyboard last week - some of you were interested to see how I would use it. So here is what I am working on. As this weekend progresses, I will add to the photos as I go.
This is the panel, to which I have added an inch fabric border (as it was the last panel in the shop, the seam allowance was a bit dodgy - so I had to fix using some tone on tone.
The fabrics down the side are the ones that I intend to use, making a small sampler patch strip on either side. (unless I change my mind in the next 5 minutes again)
I hope you are interested in my progress....
