I will be a great-grandma this summer. The mom-to-be has chosen the fabric collection shown in the link above. The designs are smallish & very cute :) , so the block pattern needs to be of a size that allows the designs to be seen. Opinions on this pattern:

These are such bright and fun fabrics, I am not sure I would add a pastel. Hand-dyed fabrics are beautiful, but I would not use in a baby quilt that will get many washings, due to propensity for dye bleeding. This shows a bright yellow Kona cotton with this fabric line. Would you consider using that? It is gender neutral, and really looks nice against all of the fabrics listed.

I'm not keen on using white in the block, would a light color work?
