Hi Debbe, another Debbie here. I'm from the desert too. Lived in Tucson from 1974 to 1990. Now I'm in NC. What part of desert are you from. I recently heard that the Old Tucson movie studio/entertainment park burned down. They rebuilt but it's not the same. We used to take our kids there all the time. I miss the dry air. I was never sick when I lived there. NC is humid and has lots of pollen. I either have a cold or allergies almost all the time. Wish I was still there sometimes. But I do love NC, it's soooooooooo green. The plants and flowers here are so beautifull. Tuscon was TAN and HOT, need I say more. Welcome to the world of quilting, you're gonna love it here. So many nice and knowledgeable people.
