I sew the label on as I'm sewing on the binding. That way, I only have to turn under and hand stitch two sides. The other two sides are hidden in the seam allowance.

As an added idea, if I have to put a hanging sleeve on the quilt, I also sew it on as I'm sewing on the binding.
